I know that I had seen some threads where people 'wished they hadn't had Ruger update theirs'. BTW, ARE these vintage Single Sixes considered 'worthy of having'? I will be sure to take good pictures of it when I get it out. If it WAS made in the late 50's, it is in VERY good shape. Of course, carefully taking them off and storing them may be a good idea, too. As for the grips, I thought about switching them out for wood grips, but may keep it original. Well, I like the 4 click system and having the half cock ejection characterists, as compared to the new transfer bar setup where the cylinder click is between chambers, which seems too awkward for my taste. To the book Know your Ruger Single Action Revolvers 1953-1963, Jan 1961was when the convertible 22s started showing up, serial number range 1734XX.

That was an Old Model, of course, with the pre-lawyer lockwork and delicious three click feel and sound that all single action lovers adore.
